A Guide To Goth And Custom

This is ebays answer to Goth searching. Some people would find it very hard to believe how many people of alternative lifestyles search ebay and pour through the massive amounts of items and sellers. Sometimes you get lucky sometimes you dont. This guide is to hopefully get you lucky.
Now sometimes i find it very hard to find quality gothic looking items in the styles and sizes i want but who doesnt? I have become a pro at finding what i want at the price i want it. Never settle on your first search check again use new key words and always check shops (if a seller has an item which is border line for you, check their other items and shops youll be suprised what youll find).
Searches
The best search words i have found to get good results for goth and rockabilly searches are Goth, Gothic (not the same thing, items with gothic in the title will not show up when you search "goth") Rockabilly, Phycobilly, Punk, Medievil, Cyber, Rave, Corset (Although you might not want this exact item it will let you into a world of fantastic goth shops, that might not have shown up otherwise).
Think by association things like Black, Leather, PVC and Fetish all are associated with things Goths and Punks but simply are listed by what they are not by what they are associated with. You want something imparticular search it! eg. (ladies clothing finder) Black, Shirt, Size 14 thats all you need ebay will show you everything that comes up within that and you might find exactly what your looking for! Just cause you think you are goth, punk or other wise does not mean you only need to stick to these words.
Custom
Now if you have found what you are looking for in a shop or other items, but you think its not your size or is the wrong colour take this into consideration.
A lot of the goth and associated items are MADE and DESIGNED by people who choose to sell on ebay so ask questions! To Find these things search things like "Custom" and

FAKE DECKER UGG BOOTS, How to tell

Ugg Boots, somtimes spelled Ugh boots or Ug boots. DECKER
FAKES
1) The quality of the stitching on the fakes is very bad.
2) The ones that are fake do not have a raised or embossed insignia on the bottom of the soles.
3) The Care Booklet that comes with the boots is in white. It has the words "Ugg Australia" embossed and it is square. Fake ones are badly printed and in silver. The pictures in the booklet are sharp and clear. The fakes ones are not. They have been scanned and printed in color and appear fuzzy or unclear. The colors are exaggerated. As of June of 2007 the Care booklet has been replaced with a cream colored card and an insert also in the beige color. Ugg no longer puts the white booklet in the box with the boots made after June of 2007.
4) The box is different: Genuine Ugg Box is one piece with a flip open lid attached. It is a strong sturdy box. The words "UGG Australia are wrten in the middle of the lid. The Ugg Logo is a starbust orange sun. It is not big but small. Ugg now as of May 2007 has a new box. It is a flip top box.
5) The bottom of the boot is raised or embossed with the UGG insignia in a Classic tall or short Authentic Ugg.

Are these Nike shoes real or fake?

There is no doubting it - fake Nikes aren't too scarce. But how do you know if the Nikes you want to bid on are real or not? Here are a few simple tips:1. Get photos of the actual pair. Many listings have very high-quality photos - you know, the ones with the pure white background and no shadow. Interestingly, these can indicate fakes more than regular photos you could take yourself. If a seller has more than one of the same shoe listed, but all with the one photo, then you can't be sure what you are getting. Always get photos of the actual shoe, ask the seller to take a photo with a reference to prove they have the shoe (eg. a piece of paper with their name on it next to the shoe). A seller of fakes will not be willing to do this.2. Does the shoe come with the original box?The majority of fakes don't come with the original box. If there is no photo of the box on the page, ask the seller to send you one (again, with the reference). Usually there is a sticker on the side of the box that says what type of shoe, what colours, and what size. If these things don't match the shoe, they're fakes.3. Where do the shoes come from?A lot of the Nike listings on eBay say 'shipped from Hong Kong' or 'shipped from China'. Steer clear of these. Although that is where most Nike, Adidas and most shoes and clothes are made, it's not where the companies are based. Countries like China have a very cheap workforce, which is why most major American, Australian and European companies outsource textile manufacturing. Unfortunately, these countries are also the main producers of fake products. When Nike, for example, gets a few thousand shoes manufactured in China, they are all shipped to regional centres in other countries. They are then distributed to retailers, who sell them to you. When a dodgy merchant sews together some fakes, they can't leave the country in large amounts because they will be seized by customs. This is why they sell them on eBay. So when you see a listing on Australian eBay that says 'shipped from (random Asian country)' there is a good chance of that product being fake.Unfortunately, feedback can not be used as a good indicator of whether shoes are fakes or not. If a buyer unknowingly buys a pair of fakes for a very cheap price (which fakes are likely to be), they will leave positive feedback. And there are some buyers who just can't be pleased, and who will leave feedback comments that suggest authenticity may be doubtful. These can be ignored some of the time - most sellers offer a refund if there is any doubt as to whether products are authentic, so if these buyers really believed the items were fakes, they would have sent them back.In conclusionIf the seller doesn't show photos of the actual shoes you are bidding on, or the box, ask for these photos. Sellers of fakes will probably refuse. If the shoes are listed on Australian eBay but shipped from Asia, be wary. And it always pays to ask the seller whether they offer a refund if items turn out to be fakes.

Vintage Linens ...basic care

Cherished items that can sometimes be very fragile are worth investing a little time in. When washing linens handwashing is always advisable and if using bleach to remove stains always go easy with the content and keep it mild. Some older colours will run , so always test first if not sure. Sun dried is always best and for pure linen, iron while damp to remove creases more easily. For stubborn rust stains, a few drops of lemon juice, let sit in natural sunlight for 1/2 hour or so then wash. Reapet if required. When storing, always use acid free paper or

Fake Nike air max 360

I have been the victim of fake nike air max 360's. Forget all you have read about the coloured inserts on the sole, or the "look of the shoe", or the stickers/colour of the box etc , the chinese have all of those bases covered, you will not be able to tell the real thing from the fake visually, hell even the fake's stitching is as good as the real thing.Instead, the major difference is in the material used to make the sole of the airmax 360, the fakes use some sort of hard crappy plastic material, that after a while squeaks when you walk, also the hard material never allows your foot to feel as if its molded to the shoe, and always feel tight to wear. After a while, the plastic bubbles of the sole yellow and split also.On the real NIKE 360,

Excessive Postage Ripoffs- Know About The Postal System

One of the biggest problems on Ebay at the moment is people overcharging on postage both worldwide and within Australia. This guide is designed to help you understand about actual postage and handling costs to help you determine what is fair.

Most sellers of ebay are genuine, honest and fair. However, even the ebay orchard has some bad apples, unscrupulous sellers who make their profits of excessive postage and handling charges. This makes the market place unfair for honest sellers and unsuspecting buyers. While ebay management are doing their best to crack down on these sellers it is up to you to be smart about what you are buying.

DID YOUR ITEM GET LOST IN THE POST? WHAT TO DO NOW!

Bought something on eBay and it seems to be taking ages to arrive or having troubles with your seller when your parcel has not arrived? This guide may help you!
It can be very frustrating when your seller tells you they posted your item and you have not received it within the time the seller stated it should be received. When this happens it is usually upsetting because you've paid for something you have not received, it's also upsetting for the seller as they have to try and help you to the best of their ability and at times this can be hard, whether because you are expressing your anger at them or if the seller does not cover items lost in the post and has no idea of how to claim for a lost parcel.
Here are some things you can do to avoid this happening to you and to help the seller and yourself to make your transaction a happy one!
First thing to do!
Firstly, wait...I know it seems like ages since the item of your dreams was won on eBay! You want to hold it in your hands, to feel the thrill of a great eBay win! You want it, and you want it now!

How to buy correct size

Frustrated with ill-fitting garments?
Would you like to know how to buy clothes on eBay that fit just right? Here are a few tips.
Tip 1 - Find out: Where was the garment made? Are you familiar with the brand?
Garments sold in Australia do not have standard sizing. The sizes vary greatly from Australian made to imported garments. Generally, Australian made garments are more generous in their sizing, the imported brands tend to be much smaller.
Australian manufacturers don't have standard sizing guidelines. You will find that if you purchase garments from a mass produced generic brand, they tend to be larger in sizing and offer a large size rannge then if you purchase upmarket designer brands - these usually carry sizes 6-12 only, tend to be a smaller cut and a snug fit.

how to find the dress that flatters your figure

Wedding dress comes in many silhouettes. So how to choose the one that flatters your figure?
Here are usually six styles as follows:

Column: this style is straight and sleek, this often-strpless dress has no waistline.
Who it flatters: perfect for the petite and short waisted women, a column's continuous line adds height to a small frame. Curvy girls should steer clear of its slender shape.

Princess: a flared, vertically seamed skirt gives this dress a regal feel
Who it flatters: this styke looks fantastic on most figures, but pear-shaped girls benefit most from this dress, which hides fuller hips while balancing the torso.

A-line one: a fluid line gently flares from the underarm to the hem on this angular shape.
Who it flatters: anyone can wear an a-line dress, but it's an especially savvy choice for thick-waisted or voluptuous women who want to minimize their curves.

Mermaid: this sexy dress hugs the waist and hips, then flares from the knees.
Who it flatters: if you are tall, curvy, or long-waisted, an hourglass-shaped gown is a showstopping pick.

Ball gown: a close-fitted bodice meets a full,floor-length skirt in this formal bridal dress
Who it flatters: short-waisted and pear-shaped girls should choose this style.

Slipdress: super slinky, this lingerie look skims the body from the bustline to hem
Who it flatters: you need to be in amazing shape to rock this slim-fit cut.
If you think this is helpful, please click on the YES button.

buying a tutu

Tutus come in many styles pancake, bell ,romantic- generally for a childs dance eisteddfodd a pancake is fashionable at the moment. They generally look as flat as the horizon when standing. In Australia young dancers wear lycra bodices- for ease of fit - either matt or shiny or lycra velvet. The more expensive are non stretch lined with coutil seamed heavily and boned. These tutus fit like a second skin- you would need to unpick and fit for your child if buying one of these sight unseen. the closure system should be large hook and eye not zipper for these boned tutus- zippers break easily and generally are considered poor. The nets of a tutu differ greatly from country to country- in Australia they are heavy stiff net cut into increasing widths applied to cotton and inserted- cheaper tutus have the net sewn onto the lycra. Net has a use by date and older nets will sag- check the age of the tutu. The quality of the net is also important the net is tacked together round by round to give that flat look in aust. The width of the skirt is important you should ask how long is the tutu skirt. The child should not look swamped and when standing with arms curved the edge of the skirt to meet the finger tips. I have noticed the english tutus are very short compared to ours and not tacked .
Decoration really depends on the music and when your child starts learning a new classical your teacher will guide you to what colour- generally young children wear pastels -so save the blacks and red to the teens- some adjudicators are offended by dark tutus on littlies. Generally best quality diamontes /crystals are the most stage dramatic on stage. Presequinned trim is very cost effective for busy decorators however there is some snobbery about using sequins on tutus I am happy to use them in moderation. The older tutus have butt ruffles- most these days do not but thats a fashion thing. Some tutus have a hoop inserted a well made tutu should not really need one. The best indicater of a tutu is to ask for a photo on a person -you can then see any drooping- and the fit- decoration can always be added later- the sit of the skirt and bodice are most important. The headpiece should be linked in colour to the tutu- if you get to know a group of ballet mums you can create a headpiece pool to lend out to each other- this is cost effective.Inside bodice measurements and stretched lycra measurements would also be good to know. For a child to dance in a tutu on stage is an amazing sight- and be prepared for the tears.!!

Postage Savings Guide!

Postage Savings Guide!
During my time selling on Ebay I have learnt that there are many different ways to reduce postage and packaging costs passing the savings onto the buyers of my items. You can save significant amounts using a variety of different ideas.
RECYCLE
Recycle reusable packaging that you receive in the post such as bubble mailers, boxes and foam peanuts. Some businesses such as supermarkets, fruit markets and variety stores will often have alot of packaging that will just go in the rubbish so it it worth asking if they could keep any unwanted packaging aside for you instead.
BULK SAVINGS
There are often huge savings to be made if you buy packaging products in bulk amounts. The post office offers discounts for bulk purchases of packaging products. Bubble wrap
