Finding the Perfect Piccolo
When you are purchasing a piccolo, you have many diffrent types, and options to choose from. If you are looking for a student model, then you are probally going to want something made of plastic or metal. These are both good for marching band also. A wooden piccolo is a more professional piccolo. You DO NOT want to use professional (wood) piccolos for marching band. The weather will cause the wood to split, and you do not want that to happen!Student model piccolos range from $250-750. More professional piccolos range from $900-5000. Good brands for both student and professional are Gemeinhardt, Yamaha, Roy Seaman, Armstrong, and Artley.
