Other Quilting Supplies-What Do I Need To Start?

quilts4ezWhat do I need to buy to start quilting ? That is the first question my new -to -quilting students ask me. The following is a check list you should purchase before going to your first quilting lesson at a quilt shop. Now don't take this next statement wrong but..., the quilt shops do not make any money on the class you signed up for. They make thier money on the over-priced supplies they sell to you. Go to your local large craft store or fabric store, if you can , wait until you get a coupon for 40% off. You will find all of the basic " hardware " supplies at the large chain stores, for about 30 % less.
*FABRIC SISSORS * PAPER SISSORS
*#5 LEAD MECHANICAL PENCIL * FELT TIP MARKED
* ROTARY CUTTER( 28MM, 45MM) * 6 " SQUARE RULER
* 24 " ROTARY RULER * SELF HEALING CUTTING MAT
i DO SUGGEST YOU BUY YOUR FABRIC AT THE QUILT SHOP BECAUSE THEY SELL QUALITY FABRIC. iF YOU ARE GOING TO SPEND HOURS MAKING A QUILT, YOU WANT TO MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE USED THE BEST FABRIC. USING POOR QUALITY FABRIC IS THE #1 MISTAKE NEW QUILTERS MAKE. I HOPE YOU FIND THIS LIST HELPFUL AND ENJOY THE PROCESS.
